Resource Development (Fundraising)

Special Olympics Arkansas provides year round sports training and competition to more that 14,000 athletes from throughout the state, in most events, free of charge. We are able to do this through support from corporations, individuals, special events, direct marketing, telephone campaigns, and a variety of other fundraising initiatives of which 72 cents of every dollar spent goes to provide training and competition to athletes. Below is a list of methods through which funds are raised for athletes, and information on how you , your company or civic group can join in. GET INVOLVED. It’s FUN !

Individual Contributions: Residents from the State of Arkansas support Special Olympics Arkansas through direct mail and telephone campaigns soliciting donations throughout the year. These campaigns also educate Arkansans about Special Olympics and promote much needed community involvement. We guarantee funds stay in Arkansas for the benefit of Arkansas athletes. Memorials and planned giving are unique ways you can support Special Olympics Arkansas.

Corporate Sponsorships: Corporations and Civic Organizations play a major role in providing financial support to Special Olympics Arkansas. Corporate Sponsorships opportunities are offered year round. Become a Corporate Sponsor at one of our events and see how this can increase your business as well.

Fundraising Events: A variety of special events supporting Special Olympics Arkansas are conducted year round including, golf tournaments, dinners, equestrian events, and much more. The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Arkansas conducts the greatest number of events serving as our largest year round sponsor.

In Kind Sponsorships: In an effort to conduct our competitions and events for Special Olympics Arkansas, we have to sometimes spend much needed funds on equipment and other incidentals to be able to organize and run the competitions and special events. One area in which you can help with, is with In-Kind Donations. These are not monetary donations, but are products or services that you can provide to Special Olympics Arkansas free of charge. These products may range from equipment, printing services, catering, hotel services, to trophies and transportation for our athletes. If you have any product or service that you would like to donate “In-Kind” to Special Olympics Arkansas, please email Shelly Yielding at Shellyyielding@aol.com or call 501-771-0222 or 1-800-722-9063
